History
The Diploma 4 (D4) Mechanical Design Engineering program is one of the study programs in the Department of Industrial Technology, Vocational School, Diponegoro University. The origin of this program was the Diploma III (D3) Mechanical Engineering program. Beginning in 2016, all diploma programs at Diponegoro University were unified under the Vocational School based on Indonesian Government Regulation Number 52 of 2015. In response to this government regulation, the Undip Rector issued Decree Number 1250/UN7.P/HK/2016 concerning the establishment of the Undip vocational school.
In its quest to produce competent human resources in line with the needs of the times, the government is encouraging the establishment and improvement of vocational education, with the aim of aligning with and aligning with the needs of industry/users. On April 5, 2017, the Rector of Diponegoro University officially issued Decree No. 179/UN7.P/HK/2017 concerning the establishment of the Diploma 4 (D4) Mechanical Design Engineering program, replacing Decree No. 363/Kemenristekdikti/Kep.1998. This indirectly marked the closure of the Diploma 3 (D3) Mechanical Engineering study program and its transformation into a new study program, Mechanical Design Engineering.
This change was certainly not without reason, but was based on the needs and desires of stakeholders/industry (a Workshop on Program Evaluation and Pioneering Cooperation with Industry on August 31, 2016) to add courses such as Solidworks Computer Applications, Fluent, Machine Vibration, and others, all of which are applied subjects taught to undergraduate or Diploma 4 students. In line with years of hope, the Undip Vocational School was officially established on September 1, 2016.
