Industrial Internship Program for Students at PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering

One of the undergraduate students in Applied Mechanical Design Engineering, Subkhi Abdurohman, passed the selection for the internship program at PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), which is a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk. The company has 5 business groups, namely Construction Machinery, Mining Contractors, Construction Industry, Mining and Energy. PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE) itself is engaged in manufacturing heavy equipment, especially for mining. The brand used for each PT product. UTPE is called PATRIA.   Through the Industrial Internship program, students gain work experience, especially in the field of production and manufacturing of heavy equipment for mining. This program is implemented for 6 months. The position offered depends on the needs of the company, such as the RnD Structure Engineer position which has the following job description:  

1. Design and create prototypes/modeling components of heavy mining equipment systems/installations
2. Carrying out research and development of a new product for heavy mining equipment
3. Create detailed technical drawings for both components and installations for heavy mining equipment
4. Carrying out finite element analysis (FEA) on the structure of mining heavy equipment components

  The job description above must at least be mastered because when you start your internship you will immediately be given tasks/work related to the position you are applying for. The software that students must master is AutoCAD and Solidworks. Apart from that, participants will also receive a deadline from the user company in completing the assignment so that students can better understand the existing design planning at PT UTPE.   The selection process that students must follow to apply for an internship/internship at PT UTPE includes the registration stage by attaching a CV and portfolio (usually via the link provided), Administrative Selection, HR Interview, User Interview and On boarding. In its implementation, students receive facilities such as pocket money, food, health facilities, and if they complete assignments longer than working hours, they will receive overtime pay with applicable conditions.
